WESTFIELD, NJ Dr. Philip Geron, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has practiced in town for 20 years, helped pay his way through college and graduate school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey working as a private detective and later, spurred by an interest in anatomy, visited a Newark morgue to observe autopsies.
