Beloved Brentwood doctor leaves patients with fond memories

A family photo of Abe Kaplan, a longtime Brentwood doctor who died last month at the age of 90. So when Abe Kaplan died late last month, the 90-year-old Brentwood doctor, who had dispensed his old-fashioned brand of medicine for nearly six decades, left behind scores of area residents remembering him with gratitude and respect. Kaplan, who established the Lone Tree Medical Center practice in 1955 with Dr. Charles Duffy, worked until failing health forced him to retire a year ago.
