Inmate says he was given pliers to pull tooth

An inmate is suing the Logan County sheriff and jail staff, saying they ignored his pleas for dental treatment for an agonizingly infected tooth for weeks until a nurse and deputy gave him a pair of dirty, rusty pliers and gauze and told him to have the "fellas" -- fellow inmates -- yank the molar. "In desperation from the pain of the untreated tooth," inmate Mark Traxler had four inmates hold him down while a fifth inmate tried to extract the tooth with the pliers.
