Starlings in Carlisle city centre causing major problems

Workers in an area of Carlisle have had to use umbrellas to protect themselves from a rain of bird droppings caused by a huge gathering of starlings. But the thousands of starlings are leaving a huge quantity of droppings, which are damaging trees, covering cars and leaving buildings and pavements plastered.
