Arthur Rankin Jr. made our holidays even more animated

Arthur Rankin Jr., the Rankin of Rankin/Bass Productions, makers of holiday specials and sundry other animated goods, died Thursday, age 89, in Bermuda, where he had lived for many years, under the tropical rule of Heat Miser.
