Carlsbad Current-Argus: 'Bat Bomb' project was scrapped 70 years ago

This is the bat bomb canister designed to hold hibernating bats. The canister was supposed to have been dropped from a bomber over Japan, releasing thousands of the Mexican free-tailed bats outfitted with tiny explosive devices.
