The lawyer for Enfield dentist Rashmi Patel, who was charged after a patient died during a procedure in his Enfield office, told a judge Tuesday that the state's prosecution amounts to double jeopardy. Patel already has been sanctioned by the state Dental Commission as a result of the death of patient Judith Gan, 64, of Ellington, defense attorney Hubert J. Santos told Hartford Superior Court Judge Joan K. Alexander.
