In a statement, Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez said he filed House Resolution 1590 urging the House Committee on Health to conduct an inquiry into this illegal practice of some dentists in the country. Rodriguez said Filipino dentists who are still allowed to use mercury as dental amalgam in their profession are selling mercury to miners for P18,000 to P30,000 per kilo.
