Tri-Valley Vietnam mission offers free dental care

Garth Riopelle, a dentist in San Ramon, recalls how some villagers came in on their motor scooters and others pedaled in on their bikes -- often from homes a couple of hours away. He was struck by how many patients, young and old, seemed so happy and grateful once they got to the free dental clinic in Da Nang, Vietnam, that he helped to set up with two other Bay Area volunteers, Austin Lee, of Dublin, and Quan Nguyen, of Stockton, on a weeklong mission in November.
