A dentist in North Bay, Ont., has been reprimanded after a four-year-old patient nearly died from a device meant to prevent thumb-sucking. The Health Professions Appeal and Review Board says the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario must caution the dentist, identified only as L.E.H., about using such appliances on young patients.
