Hiwassee College receives $220,000 grant to provide dental care to East Tennessee

The Hiwassee College Department of Dental Hygiene has been awarded a grant of $220,000 from the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation, according to Leslie Barkley, director Dental Hygiene at Hiwassee College. The grant will be used to acquire and equip a mobile dental unit to expand student-learning experiences as they serve children, adults and senior citizens in Monroe and surrounding counties.
