US stocks inch lower in midday trading; Netflix soars

The Dow Jones industrial average slipped 29 points, or 0.2 percent, to 18,082 as of 11:50 a.m. Thursday. The Standard & Poor's 500 index lost three points, or 0.2 percent, to 2,102.
