A big name in sunglasses and ski goggles to move design HQ to Portland

Smith Optics, a long-time Idaho-based maker of sunglasses and ski goggles, is moving its design operations to Portland next year, according to a report in an Idaho newspaper. Smith Optics, a maker of sports optics including ski goggles and sunglasses, will open a 35-person design office in Portland as part of restructuring of the long-time Idaho company.
