Red Springs threatened over sewer discharge

The Southern Environmental Law Center, acting on behalf of the Winyah Rivers Foundation, has put the state and town of Red Springs on notice that if steps are not beefed up within the next 60 days to address issues surrounding sewage discharge into the Lumber River Basin a lawsuit will be filed. "Water quality is important to us," Chandra T. Taylor, senior attorney for the Southern Environmental Law Center's North Carolina Office, said Wednesday.
