The U.S. Attorney's Office settled its case March 4 against a Rockport dentist accused of submitting fraudulent statements about dental work provided to patients in order to receive reimbursements from the state's MaineCare program, according to a news release from the office. Daniel P. Schecter, D.M.D., paid $484,774 to settle the case filed in December by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
